Difficulties displaying some exam papers

Some versions of Adobe Acrobat fail to display some files in their entirety. The problem usually manifests as only the cover pages displaying, with subsequent pages failing to display and/or appearing blank.

To counter this:

  1. When the paper is displayed on screen, save the file to a floppy disk, or local hard disk, using the "save file" icon in the Acrobat toolbar. Take note of the file name as you are saving it!

    Save the file
  2. Open the file from the location you saved it to. (If working on a library information access terminal, you will see the screen below. Click the appropriate icon to locate the file you saved). Otherwise, navigate on your computer to where you saved the file.

    Open the file
  3. When you open the file, as you move down a page, you may see a message which says "insufficient data for an image". Simply ignore this message; press Enter to clear the message, and continue moving through the pages, which will now display correctly.
